RCIC'18

The current edition of Redefining Community in Intercultural Context. Nation Branding, Identity & Security Conference will focus mainly on contemporary social phenomena associated with the fields of security and intelligence: intercultural communication, ethnic and national identity, technology and society, ethics of scientific research.

The first five editions of Redefining Community in Intercultural Context Conference Proceedings have already been included in ISI - Thompson Reuters, Conference Proceeding citation index, List of conferences, Social Sciences & Humanities.

MAIN GOAL

The main goal of this event is an exchange of experience between professors, researchers and practitioners in the field of community dynamics, especially in the area of intercultural pedagogy. Moreover, we look forward to putting into practice the new ideas that will result from the interaction of the above-mentioned stakeholders. Our end-goal is to improve the quality of education and, consequently, personal and intellectual development. Last but not least, we are eager to disseminate the results of our multicultural dialogue within the academic community and beyond it.

PARTICIPANTS

We welcome the participation of professors, researchers, PhD students, MA students from Romania and abroad.

STRUCTURE OF EVENT

RCIC’18 will consist of three main parts: plenary session; panels; networking activities.

LOCATION

RCIC’18 will be held at the following venue: “Mihai Viteazul” National Intelligence Academy, 20 Odai st., Bucharest 075100, Romania..

PROPOSED TOPICS

- Romania – Self-Image and Hetero-Image (New);
- National Identity in Intercultural Context (New);

- Security and Intercultural Communication;
- Culture and Communication /Philosophy of Culture;
- Linguistics and Semiotics/Discourse Analysis;
- New Technology and Social Perceptions.

Once the conference papers are submitted, selected papers are going to be presented in panels. All new ideas arising from these discussions will subsequently be used as a starting point for similar events.

DEADLINES

- submission of abstracts for review: March, 25th, 2018.
All the abstracts should be submitted only as a unique Microsoft Word file, attached to an e-mail sent to: a.lesenciuc@yahoo.fr and ella.ciuperca@animv.ro
- notification of abstract acceptance: April, 1st, 2018;
- confirmation of payment fee: April, 15th, 2018;
- submission of camera-ready papers: April, 29th, 2018.

PAPER

Each author has the right to submit no more than 2 papers. Each paper must be submitted in English. The proceedings will be published in the magazine with double-blind refereeing.

CONFERENCE FEE 80 €

The fee will cover the printed and electronic proceedings, the cocktail, the coffee breaks, the official dinner and the networking activities.
