The preparation for a change, either a change of generation, a change of perspective or even maintaining the stability at the organizational culture level in a global environment, in a continuous dynamic, apparently with no reference points, involves the “preparation for unforeseeable” A preparation incapable to be offered within the rigid limits of norms or within the slight flexible limits of the daily practice. In order to surpass the “buckram in project”, getting stuck in form, the free spirit must be relieved. And this relief could constitute the change key, especially in a higher education institution, such as the “Henri Coanda” Air Force Academy.
The change key (and also that of maintaining the stability at the organizational culture level towards the dynamic external environment) is represented by the didactic and research sector. During the last years, the academy constituted a polarization center of the research activities in the specialty fields, and the results appeared immediately. The last meritorious result represents the inclusion of the publication “Review of the Air Force Academy” within the international database and, implicitly, its classification at the B+ level by the CNCSIS, thus becoming the best classified publication by the Ministry of National Defense. It is an argument in favor of the high professionalism of an institution that does not impress by its dimensions, but only by its professionalism and value. In this context, the issue of a new publication, the “Scientific Bulletin of the Air Force Academy” is salutary. It is an honor to me to sign the opening address of the first issue, thinking that, probably, over the years, the scientific bulletin could be, at its turn, a world-wide polarization center of the scientific research activity in the field of air forces. Welcome to this new publication and may it have the clearest blue sky over our changing global society, looking for its guidelines!
