The opening of the International Air Defence Semester

On 2 March 2026, at “Henri Coandă” Air Force Academy in Brașov, the opening of the International Air Defence Semester took place, marking a new stage in regional military-academic cooperation and in the promotion of professional excellence., marking a new stage in regional military-academic cooperation and professional excellence.

Organized by the Henri Coandă Air Force Academy, in partnership with the Bulgarian Air Force Academy, Vasil Levski National Military University, and the Polish Air Force University, this semester brings together cadets, instructors, and experts dedicated to advancing integrated air and missile defence capabilities.

In today’s strategic environment, air defence is no longer a strictly national responsibility. It is a collective effort that requires interoperability, shared doctrine, common procedures, and mutual trust. Through joint courses, operational simulations, academic exchanges, and applied research activities, this program strengthens precisely these dimensions.

Beyond technical knowledge, radar systems, engagement chains, C2 architectures, and multi-layered defence concepts, this semester builds something even more important: professional relationships between future officers who will operate together in multinational environments.

Cooperation in education today means operational effectiveness tomorrow.
